5great camera, the included software is VERY important!!!
By DC Reviews
I am surprised in the clarity of this 1.3mp camera, I had planned to get a 3mp camera for my home but when I tested this one I was really surprised that although the image is a lot smaller than a 3mp one, it has a very clear image so that if someone walks near the camera you can totally see their face even when it is at night as it is clear even with the IR lights on.

Although it is 1.3mp and not 3mp, the image is clear and is higher than 720p, probably a bit higher than that. It is important to use the software for setup if your router is not set up correctly to the IP of the IP camera (different IP range).

Some images of the install and quality of the camera image will come soon.

Please note, the camera has not been fully mounted on my house yet as I haven’t had the time to run the wire, but my tests are based off a 100ft ethernet cord plugged into the wall with a wall adapter and an additional test with the device powered via PoE.

I have no problems with the quality of the camera as it is heavy and is made of metal and not plastic like some of the cameras sold in stores. The joint of this device is very stiff so it is hard to move it if it isn’t directly in your hand, I can say that since it is so stiff I am sure that it won’t fall down after I mount it as the joint basically requires a good amount of force to tilt it up and down. The up and down motion is about a 90 degree angle, the only thing with the joint that I had was that I couldn’t move it much side to side for positioning.

There isn’t point to zoom features on this camera so the only way you adjust it is that is to move it around on the joint.

The included power adapter is cheap, I wouldn’t use it in my installtion as I would use PoE which was fine.

The camera gets HOT after using it for a while in the sun, but it seems it is built to withstand hot weather as I didn’t notice any performance issues after using it on my deck for a while.

The included ethernet cable is of good quality, but it isn’t long enough to run, with my initial mounting tests on a wood board (not stucco) I found that the mount was secure and easy to setup, it can be tampered with since there is a hole for the wire on the side but it is hard metal and attaches.

Comes with CD, limited physical instructions manual (full manual is located on CD), ethernet cable, mounting, power adapter, camera.

This camera is smaller than some of the ones I have seen which is nice as it is discreet, there is no place to stuff the cable into so you will need to stuff it into the wall if you were to mount it. I did have a problem with the design as there is a hole for the wire to come out on the edge, this is a problem as if you don’t seal it and you have a in wall installtion, someone can tamper with it or water can get into it, but if you were to install it inside that is a good way to fish the wire out for cable management, however that not a good design as it can lead to the wires to be exposed.

SETUP/SOFTWARE (the setup is similar to the other camera I used, so here is a copy of what I wrote in that one):

The included software is designed for the camera and is good, it is similar to Blue Iris, however it has some broken english here and there but the program works and has a lot of features that you can use, works well with this camera.

The setup of the camera is easy, I tried both ways, PoE and power adapter and both of it worked, the camera powered on, it did get hot on the AC adapter though.

The configuration however is NOT easy if you have a router set with “” as the default gateway, the router is set to “” and it didn’t work well with my router. Here is where the software comes in, it is crucial to have the software.

If you are unable to connect to it you will need to reconfigure the IP on the camera, it took me a while to figure out but it is easy, you will need to install the software that was included and run the IP config/Discovery tool, that will indeed find discover the camera on the network “” you will need to right click on the camera and click “Modify” then change the ip to whatever your router gateway is, in my case “” and hit modify, it will write the changes and BOOM it works!

I didn’t see a web interface for this camera that you can use without a plugin, it only asked me to install a plug in in order to use it, there wasn’t an easy to use web management panel like to change passwords ETC without installing the plugin so you will need to use the included software to do that. The plug in actually seems to only work on internet explorer and basically is a similar panel to the UC panel however it is much more bare bones. I don’t see the web panel running smoothly on slower PC’s as it is heavily flash dependent.

So basically after changing the IP, the camera worked and I used the included “UC” software which works like Blue Iris, to log in to view the camera and edit the settings and such.

The setup of the camera isn’t hard, you just need to know what to do. I have a lot more to say about the camera but I figured I would keep it concise and to the point.

In the end, the camera is good but I would prefer to get a 3mp camera for my from door and have these for my back yard as I like to see the faces in a larger image when compared to this one. This camera works, but for the price there are better options.

I have not hooked this up to a NVR, but it would work as it is universally detected apparently.

I did get this for review but I can assure you I did test the product and my review is honest and unbiased.

5Easy to install for a little extra peace of mind
By Kim Kenny
We have always felt safe in our neighborhood but have noticed that our motion sensor lights come on at odd times during the night. We have discussed a security camera but never did go look at them. This security camera from GW Security seemed easy enough for us to install so we were happy to set it up & check it out.
The package came with the security camera, a 25’ ethernet cable, AC adapter, screws & wall anchors for mounting the camera, and the installation CD. We got it all out & went outside to install the camera. Whoever lived in our house before we did had drilled a hole in the bedroom wall to pull cable wires through so we just enlarged that hole to accommodate the ethernet cable. Then we ran the power cord to a power strip inside of our carport & we were ready to test the camera. I installed the software & we plugged the ethernet into our laptop just to see what the feed looked like. It looks great! It wasn’t until I took a photo of it that I realized that I didn’t set the date but I’ll get around to doing that this week. The only thing we have done so far is to program the Motion Detection.
This security camera is very well made. It is not really noticeable on our house except at night when the red lights are visible. And now we know that our motion sensor lights are coming on because our neighbor’s grandsons walk to the convenience store down the block a couple of times each night.
I received this product in exchange for my honest review. The opinions expressed above are 100% my own based on my personal use of the product.

4Good to have….
By Bewaji
I got this item free for my honest review.
I thought setting up the camera will be a breeze. Alas it is not. Pulling the wires through the walls and attic was a bit of a pain, but that’s the only thing that was hard in terms of setup. This is a professional system, not a plug-n-play toy so it takes a bit of work to fully understand how to use it. The image quality is great, the picture clarity was awesome. If the company provides installation help, it is a good buy. It works well for me,
and the best part is that so far I have not needed to use it to reconstruct an intrusion or unfavorable act. Hopefully I won’t ever have to, but in case, I am glad I got this security camera.
