1Does not work as advertised
By G. Felton
I bought this system and installed it following the instructions. Furthest camera from the NVR was 40 feet, on the outside of my house. It never would acquire a picture. I brought the camera in and connected it at a range of 8 feet, in the same room, and the video was sporadic at best giving me a feed only about 50% of the time. I tried this with all four cameras with the exact same results. When I contacted the xmarto customer service they told me that I would probably need to connect the cameras to the NVR via Ethernet cables which would completely contradict the reason for wanting a wireless system.
In addition, I purchased a Seagate 1TB 3.5″ Sata HDD as per their recommendations in order to record the video. The description clearly states either a 2.5″ or 3.5″ will easily install and fit into the NVR. This was simply not true. None of the mounting holes on the HDD lines up with mounting holes in the NVR.
Lastly, and this is more of a nuisance than anything, but the supplied mouse arrived broken.
I would advise that you take caution with the reviews on this product. The vast majority of them at this point are from people who received the product for free in exchange for a positive review. I felt like a beta tester for a product that simply does not do what the manufacturer claims. Look for better options.

5Great, easy system !
By David Abrahamson
What a great system. This is my first video system, and I simply couldn’t be happier. It was very easy to install. I put the 4 cameras up, hooked up the NVR, stuck in a hard drive, done. I was worried that I wouldn’t get a signal since i’m in a metal building with 2 layers of steel between the cameras and the NVR. 2 cameras worked perfect, but 2 would barely connect. xmartO tech support helped me out via email. I purchased 2 small WiFi antennas with a 4′ cable (TP-LINK TL-ANT2405C). Left the cameras outside & ran the cable to the antenna inside the shop. Went from 1 bar to full bars signal. 2 cameras are about 75′ away thru 2 walls with windows, 2 are outside the metal building with no openings 50′ and 120′ away respectively (these are the ones I added the antennas to). The night vision is great on the cameras. I have one about 50′ from a doorway and it covers it really well. Only downside, I almost wish I would have purchased the 8 channel system so I could add a few more cameras ! Maybe I’ll take the 4 channel home & use it there, and get the 8 channel for the shop. Setup and viewing on our smartphones is easy and the pictures looks good. Unlike some of the other reviewers here, I paid for the system. $399.99. I think this system is well worth that. The cameras are built really well, and it works just like advertised. Pretty much plug in the cameras to a 120v outlet & they work. All in all, a great simple system to set up and use. How do you get on the list to get this stuff for free? lol.

4Really Nice System
By Crítica
First off, this is the easiest system to set up that you will ever find in your life! Screw in all the antennas on everything, plug in the NVR unit, hook the HDMI cable to a monitor and connect the cameras to power and Badda Bing Badda Boom. Everything came right up! No scanning codes, looking for IP addresses, nothing else!

So with the initial experience going so well it seemed this had great potential. I was anxious to get moving on the setup so I did not wait until I had the 3.5 inch SATA drive to plug in for recording. Ok, so this is really not a complaint, but getting the drive and installing is an inconvenience. Still I was able to get the system going for monitoring and security.

With the system hooked up and looking at 4 cameras I was pumped. Next I right clicked the mouse and brought up the menu. Hmm..hit setup wizard. Easy enough. It walked me through the entire set up, So literally within minutes of connecting it all I was done.

The things I like about the system are obviously set up number one. Then setting up the cameras to notify me if movement is noted is easy as well. Plus you can go in and select a grid on each camera of the areas you want to monitor for motion. Look at the photos with the grid and blue squares. This camera looks at the back of the house and the road. Without the grid select every car that went by would trigger a recording, alarm and alert email if I selected the options. In this case I only monitor small areas that if a person moved would trigger an alert, but is less likely to trigger false alarms due to cars, birds, leaves and such. Really works well!

Also you can easily set the time of day to record or alarm. This is great since I don’t care during the day what goes on since there is always someone home. However at night, I want to trigger alerts. Also you can set it up to just start recording at days and times selected. With a 500 GB drive you get a few weeks and a terabyte gets you a month or so from what they say.

You also have easy access to the apps for your phones and tablets. The QR codes come up as part of the set up wizard, how cool! I am able to monitor the unit from anywhere.

Night vision is really good! There are 3 IR lights on each camera, see photo, and easily lights a good size yard.

What I did not like is the installation of a drive as mentioned and you need to connect the NVR to a hard wired router. The cameras are WiFi back to the NVR, but wires carry the signal to your internet router for remote monitoring.

All in all, this is a really nice system. I can’t wait to get the drive installed and start using it to its full capability.

A lot of crimes are occurring in the home. This has increased the need to have a security system in your own home. Parents and homeowners are certainly not always at home. Thus, important things and people are left at home unprotected and unsafe from people who are to be able to do them harm. As parents are gone for long periods of time everyday, a surveillance DVR is the only thing that can manage this as compared to VCRs that can simply deal with small amounts of time.
