I purchased this set after reading reviews for several other reviews for surveillance systems with wireless cameras. The system works as described for the most part after the set up. I had some hiccups with monitor resolution getting the display to show but customer service was pretty helpful, the included instructions are kind of vague if you come across any issues. Original power supply for the NVR was faulty and a new one was sent by xmarto. Once I got going, I plugged the cameras in and they came right up on the screen. I wish I had another camera to compare these images to as they claim to be HD. I added the 2 TB HDD so I can record for 25 days or so. When I look back over the recordings and pause the footage, I guess I expected the image to be clearer. I need to run some more tests to see if an individual can actually be identified from the images captured by these cameras and at what distance. Night vision claims to be around 80 ft, I can barely make out deer at a distance of about 65ft via the recordings. If image quality of recorded footage was a better this would be close to a 5 star rating.

*It’s 90% wireless. Analog 600/700tvl kits require a power + video 2 cables per camera; It’s really easy!
By Mary Tate
I have experience using different cctv system: previous generation of analog system 600tvl, then changed to 720p PoE system; then I purchased another wifi system and returned it to seller because cameras lost connection sometimes.
When I first see this, I realized this is what I was looking for. Mine is running for a whole week now, it’s working so far so great. Unlike the previous wifi system I bought, this is not painful to use at all. It’s actually a big relief.
I am connecting it to my TV thru HDMI. I watch TV most of the time. Use tv remote switch to HDMI to view this system. Obviously though I was not watching, it records to the hard drive, so I can view back the video anytime. I added my old 1tb desktop hard drive. 8 days 24*8 used like only less than 200gb now. I set 5 of the channels to motion recording.
** It’s 90% wireless. Analog 600/700tvl kits require a power + video 2 cables per camera; poe requires 1 cat5 cable per cam; this, each camera need a power socket near the camera only. Problem with both analog and poe is, the cable must go back to the dvr box. That means if you put the dvr box under your TV, you will have a lot of cables there. That is never nice feeling. This kit has a wireless nvr, so the cams stream to nvr wirelessly. This saves a lot of cables. Each camera uses a power adapter to get power. Each power adapter has 3m power lead which is long enough. You either has a socket within 3m or you have any power cable go thru you can get power from. To get power is after all way easier than cabling thru dozens of meters to the dvr. I once considered about 100% wireless Arlo. But thinking I have to pay and change batteries from time to time, I don’t feel that secure. Security cameras are supposed to run 24*7.
** It’s really easy. With my common sense after I plug them to power I was checking manual to see how to connect them to my router. Although seeing from the advertising it has built-in router, I was assuming I need to connect to my router somehow and let the cams and nvr get ip. But in seconds I saw the image right on my TV! This is amazing! My previous returned wifi kit also says plug and play but I had to connect the cameras and nvr to my router one by one. Worst was, 1 or 2 of those cameras black out sometimes. That was not secure! This one is simply plug and play. Plug them to power and they give you image. That’s it.
**Then I figured out viewing on my mobile with app, use motion recording to record 2 of my cams to save hdd space, use email alert and close it soon because my home is not that quiet, did not want a lot of emails though it let you set check every x seconds.
** The wifi distance. 6 out of 8 cameras have good connection. I have a three story brick house, there are 3 walls between NVR and the other 2 cameras. So seller suggests me to purchase two antenna extensions. I purchased 2 TP-Link wired antenna extensions and now those 2 cameras connect well.
** The image. 720p was good, 960p is even better. Video is very clear with 30FPS on the cameras.
** The cameras. I like the cameras, the design, the size are very proper. Don’t know since when manufacturers make their cameras so small. But I like cameras to be bigger and more durable, since they are used outdoors. These cameras are solid and bigger…not so big though, very proper size.
[AUTO-PAIR]xmartO WOS1388 8 Channel 960p HD Wireless Security Camera System with 8x 960p HD Outdoor Wireless IP Cameras (Built-in Router, Reliable Long Range WiFi, 1.3MP Camera, IP66, 80ft IR)Cons:
** The mobile app seems not support iPhone 6s resolution so well. Works good on my Android phone.
** Obviously on the app it’s sub stream not 960p main stream, but image quality is acceptable.
** Better to pre-installed hard drive. Although it’s easy to add a hard drive, it would be great to have hard drive pre-installed.
Bottom Line: I would recommend this, for it has caused me no trouble at all so far. For 1st time I did not pay to suffer the settings, the blackout…recommended.
