5When they say compact, they’re not kidding!
By Jackie Nourse Laulainen
So incredibly tiny! I’m used to big digital SLRs but I am a traveler and hate lugging “Colossus” around with me all the time, which means I generally leave it behind. Not so with this little guy! I am impressed with the image and video quality. I’ve already posted a video I recorded with this camera without using an external mic and it turned out great (if you want to see the example go to http://youtu.be/0UP-e0qOADw) or if the link won’t show it’s called the Clear Your Closet Challenge by The Budget-Minded Traveler on YouTube. I bought the Audio-Technica ATR-3350 Lavalier mic to go with it, which fits and works fine, just haven’t made a video with it yet. I’m leaving for Europe in 3 weeks and am SO excited to have this compact camera with incredible capability to take with me. Great value for the price- I also bought both lenses and the flash as well, which I would recommend. The 18-55mm is handy for most of the time, the 22m is incredible for macro and wide lens. The video was taken with the 22m. I would say the autofocus is a little slow but if you’re recording in one spot you can take off the moving focus and just focus it on one spot. That could be a problem with other videos but I feel like the pros outweigh the cons on this one.

5Canon eos m
By Papa Doc
Bought this with the 18-55 STM zoom, 22 f-2.0 prime and flash for a bargain & free shipping. With the firmware upgrade the focusing is slightly slow, slightly, almost to the point that it doesn’t matter. Absolutely great for available light photos with the 22 prime. It is jacket pocketable but not pants. And never with the zoom lens. But with a full size sensor and DLSR low light performance it is a take with camera when anything bigger doesn’t work. The new M2 is an upgrade, but for the price this is a steal. My dSLR with a super wide zoom, standard lens and long Tele zoom will be sitting in the bag waiting for the next safari.
