And now for a review that ISN’T paid for…
Overall, I have to say that I am quite happy with this CCTV system. I purchased this off Amazon (duh) for a suspiciously low price and honestly I wasn’t expecting much. When it arrived, it was neatly packaged and was essentially idiot-proof to install. I put the the cameras on all four corners of my house using the supplied mounting screws and brackets, facing opposite directions, in order to cover as much of my property as possible. The cameras came with high quality cables, which stood up to being yanked around and pulled on, containing both the power and video lines in each cable plus a splitter on both ends. I connected the DVR’s VGA out port to the secondary VGA input on my PC monitor and then plugged the DVR system and separate camera plugs into my UPS to ensure they’d keep recording in the event of a power outage.
The cameras immediately fired up upon connecting the power and video cables and started recording the second I connected the power to my UPS and the DVR system. Setup was quick and easy using the included USB mini mouse. Quality was standard for what you’d expect from CCTV and is by no means “HD”. To date, I can record to the 1TB hard drive for 16 days before it begins to overwrite old recordings automatically using the default settings.
At night, the cameras record nicely and pick up everything within a 10-12 foot range with it’s infrared sensors. After that distance, everything becomes dark and murky. It’s still enough to record footage of any perpetrators dumb enough to get close to the cameras but the night sensors are VERY sensitive to any light sources and will glitch the cameras in and out of day/night mode with a CBVR error if it detects street lights, for example. In the daytime, although, everything is nice and clear and you can pick out the hairs on a bugs a** from 20 feet away. Occasionally, I did notice the cameras drop out with no explanation for 1-2 minutes at a time but that has only happened twice in the four months I’ve had them.
In closing, I would suggest this camera setup to nearly everyone who has nothing to hide. It is a little odd to see footage of myself out walking around, but what unnerved me most about this setup is in order to view your cameras remotely, you have to sign up on a website that is full of broken english and the plug-ins required to view remotely are chock-full of trojans. This leads me to believe that someone “else” is also able to view your cameras without your consent. (Not existent if viewing locally. Additionally, to use ALL the features of the local viewer in a web browser, you HAVE to use Internet Explorer *shudder*) The XMEye app for Android demands full permissions over your phone but is restricted on iOS and works flawlessly. (Albeit, still requires you to log in with the account you have to make on their site.)
EDIT: The camera system I am writing a review for is the four channel model with a 1TB hard drive. The DVR you will receive looks NOTHING like what is pictured in this product description. My link seems to redirect to this model.
Long story short, buy this. Floureon, get your stuff together and remove the trojans from your PC and mobile apps and give us the ability to view our cameras remotely without your snooping eyes being able to pop in at any time and spy on our families.

My biggest disappointment is the remote viewing
First of all the product I received does not match the product description. The DVR differs from the photos and the cameras are 700 TVL not 900 as the description states. My biggest disappointment is the remote viewing. The app will not install on either of my android devices. The website is in broken English and not helpful.
As for the actual system, it is simple enough to install and the cameras produce an okay image quality, definitely not HD. The DVR records fine and playback is easy to use. The instructions are almost useless and poorly written, but anyone with a little tech knowledge can figure out how to use the basic features.
Overall the system is okay but I would not buy this again due to the inability to easily view remotely. Also, anytime a company has inaccurate descriptions and photos they lose some credibility.

A lot of crimes are occurring in the home. This kind of has increased the requirement to have a security system in the home. Parents and homeowners are certainly not always at home. Therefore, important things and people are left at home unprotected and unsafe from people who are to be able to do them harm. Since parents are gone for a long time everyday, a monitoring DVR is the only thing that can deal with this as compared to VCRs that can simply deal with small amounts of time.
