1BUYER BEWARE, this company has been DISCONTINUED! No updates to anything, terrible customer service, and no parts available!
By James
This camera system itself deserves maybe two stars. The camera quality and features (even with premier service, which cost $50 per year extra ) are mediocre at best but at least it’s more secure than an your average IP camera and the setup is relatively easy, so there’s that.

However, BUYER BEWARE, this company has been DISCONTINUED by Netgear, even though they don’t tell future customers this nor did they tell past buyers what it would mean for their systems. They are not offering accessories anymore, are no longer producing products or parts, do not update their online user interface anymore, do not update their app anymore, and customer service is HORRENDOUS! I received a bill for their premium service in the amount of $53.99, which I never received. When I called to get a refund, they told me that the return policy was 30 days. I tried to explain that this was not a return for a service I was not happy with, its a refund for a service I NEVER received. I was continuously transferred between two representatives, Angelie and Allen, even though each of them told me they were “escalating my case.” They are the only two people I have spoken to, even though I have called several times over the past few weeks trying to deal with this situation, and the wait times are HORRIBLE, which leads me to believe that they are the only two customer service reps for the whole company now. I’m STILL waiting for a refund but at this point it seems more like THEFT. Even when I called the Netgear corporate headquarters directly, I was told that they cannot offer support for Vuezone products and said they would have someone at Vuezone customer service call me…well, guess who it was…Allen! and he had the nerve to tell me that their support records didn’t show any of my previous contacts with Vuezone support, even though I had spoken directly to him! Vuezone customer service, as a concept, is simply nonexistent anymore and Netgear is a horrible excuse for a company if this is how they let customers who’ve spent HUNDREDS of dollars on THEIR products and services over the years to be treated after THEY chose to discontinue Vuezone. Seems like they did so to essentially FORCE people to buy new products in the hope that they will buy their new Arlo camera. After this terrible treatment, I would NEVER recommend ANY Netgear products. Save your time, money, and frustration and buy something else, like a dropcam.

4Good System with some limits
By JAMES CROSS
I used an all Apple setup (IPhone, IPad, and Apple wifi). I followed the installation instruction and had the cameras working in five minutes. The image is not as good as you can get with more expensive cameras but the picture is good enough for home sequrity and monitoring. I used the cameras to detect motion which performed fine after adjusting camera detection sensitivity. Bright lights may cause both image and detection capability issues. This is an issue if you aim the camera at a window and try to see details in a darker room.

If you are moving quickly the delay between motion detection and the picture the camera takes in response to detecting motion may miss the person causing the detection. The APP for the iPhone and the iPad worked very good. I signed up for detection alert and get alerts with a picture when motion is detected. This requires you to sign up for a program that charges a nominal monthly charge. When I am away from home I can monitor my house with my iphone and receive alerts if motion is detected.

Bottom line, this is a good system that has some limits but for the price the system works pretty good.

3You’ll be happy if you keep your expectations in line
By Dustin F.
Its a simple system to setup. Website and mobile apps are pretty good. The only thing I would really like to see for the next software update is a scheduled time for the system to be armed. Say from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm. That’s the only annoying part. If you leave the motion sensors always enabled you get tons of emails and become desensitized to them. Having to arm and disarm the cameras daily is just a tedious thing to have to do. I’d rather set and forget.

Its not HD quality by any means. If you want that, install a $2000+ system with wires and dvr device.

for 200 bucks and 100 dollar add on cameras,,,its pretty slick. I’ve read a ton of bad reviews. I have no issues with mine except the software side not exactly thought through for the end users needs.
