Love it–I have the prior version and love it, too–this new one is even better.
I own the prior version of this camera and many, many other cameras. I’m a professional photographer and mostly use medium format or large format for portraiture and landscape, respectively. The sony A7Rii is an amazing piece of kit, especially for the price. I have cameras that cost more than 10 TIMES as much as this Sony (yes, over $30k for just the digital back (sensor) alone for some cameras) and those cameras are not 10 TIMES BETTER than the Sony–arguably, the Sony is better than those >$30k digital back cameras that many pros use as one of their tools they use on a daily basis. Every photographer has different needs and every piece of kit has its compromises–whether it is price, quality, size, weight; whatever–nothing out there that exists today is a “no compromises” solution. Until they make a digital back with a full 60mm x 70mm sensor that weighs 3 pounds and has high ISO capabilities, ability to accommodate useful image circles for all of my LF camera glass, DSLR-style frame rate and can take 4k video and charge less than $5k for the package, we will all be making compromises and optimizing for what is required for our work.
For the price, nothing beats it. I have cameras from Phase One, Contax, Leica, Mamiya, Fuji, Canon, Rollei, Cambo, and too many others –I still use my medium format cameras for professional portraiture and for interior work. For landscape I generally used Large Format. But for “snapshots” and as my “walk around” camera I’m really happy with the Sony. I use a lot of exotic glass on it using adapters and continue to be impressed with the results. The resolution, pixel size, IQ of the images, the depth of data embedded in the raw files is tremendous and I’m able to do things with this camera I haven’t been able to do before because they simply weren’t possible. I don’t know how many stops of dynamic range it has, but I can rescue blown highlights and shadows that I wasn’t previously thought possible.
Originally I was worried about the robustness of the camera and worried it wouldn’t stand up to professional use/abuse. I have had to have my Leicas serviced far more often than I expected. I’ve needed my Contax 645 serviced twice, and my Mamiyas used to need service routinely. So far, the Sony has been worry free and continues to be a performer.

Mirrorless Cameras are Digital Digital cameras which provide the picture quality and versatility of professional Digital Single-Lens Response cameras (DSLRs), combined with a mobility closer to that of a more common “point and shoot” digital camera. They are also known as Mirrorless Interchangeable Lens Digital Cameras simply because that, unique through the common Digital Digital cameras for consumer market, they will provide a mechanism to change lenses conveniently, as it’s done with professional ones.
