This kit has 4 cameras sold separately at $17.99, 4 siamese 60′ cables sold at 5.99 each, a power supply for the 4 cameras valued at about $9. Folks, that’s $105 WITHOUT the actual DVR. I’ve mounted a 640 GB SATA drive (not included)and hooked it up to a computer monitor using a VGA cable (not included). The DVR includes a mouse and the on-screen menu is intuitive and efficient. After formatting the drive I tested each of the cameras- each works as advertised. Granted, I’ve not run any cable or mounted the cameras so I can’t speak about durability, but the sheer value provided is amazing for $119. Don’t waste your time with USB dongles like I did, get one of these. AND I can add 4 more cameras since the DVR has 8 inputs.

Its a good value for money kit. It isn’t going to blow you away with any of its feature set nor quality, some things don’t work as advertised, but we are looking circa $85 here so I think your getting value which is what my rating & review takes into account.
First up the mobile app does not work. It works on a local network but it will not work on a data network nor did I have any luck on wifi from a different access point. It is operational since on the local network it works fine but keep that in mind this is an entirely local system.
Picture quality is not great but its passable and its a $17 camera so its pretty decent for that. Things are clear enough and things such as facial details can be made out in good light but I thinks its folly if you are using it for anything that would require important or detailed information. For lack of a better way to describe I’d call it ‘Daytime TV’ quality where everything is a bit smoothed out and diffuse. Its great for a bit of basic surveillance and as an additional few eyes to perhaps a few better cameras. Color reproduction is a bit flat lacking some saturation and I found adjusting it doesn’t really improve overall picture quality.
Adding a HD was easy and navigating the system is pretty decent. I quite like the GUI and i’d imagine Zosi have a similar GUI in some of there other systems. I’ll dive into a bit more when I get a chance but it seems fairly we featured. Motion detect was easy to set with the usual grid system and on a very quick test I found it triggered and recorded as it should.
The cameras switch to night mode quite early and the night mode is OK. Again don’t expect to be fishing to many details but they will do the trick on your property or business.
Can you do better? In my experience not really at the price point for four cameras. One decent IP CAM runs $70 or a bit more but I only regard it as ‘decent’ if the app works. These would be good at adding some extra viewing in addition to a few cameras with better definition.
At double the price you can get some really decent DVR systems – at four times the price some excellent WIFI based self contained NVRs. Hence, at THIS price point for four cameras its doing OK, not great by any means, but OK and worth a look if you want a few cameras on the cheap.
Product provided for review – its just my opinion

A lot of crimes are taking place in the home. This kind of has increased the necessity to have a security system in the home. Parents and homeowners are certainly not always at home. Therefore, important things and people are left at home unprotected and unsafe from people who are to be able to do them harm. Seeing that parents are gone for long periods of time everyday, a surveillance DVR is the only thing that can manage this as compared to VCRs that can simply manage small amounts of time.
